I went to the Day After...

I went to the Day After with a friend around 7:30 last Saturday. The club has the standard Newark NJ go-go club layout. The stage is surrounded by a rectangular shaped bar. There is no pool table for this bar. Girls will dance on stage for a few songs then make loops around the bar collecting tips. There were three girls there that I could see, all Brazilian. They ranged from attractive to marginally attractive, and two of the three were on the older side. One girl came off stage, sat with a guy and gave him a lap dance at the bar. The girl dancing at that time had a nice face and body but spoke no English. The positives about the bar is that it has a nice relaxed feel to it, and for the most part the dancers were acceptable. Parking in this section of Newark is tough but the bar has a garage about a block away which I believe is free. A domestic beer is $5 per bottle which is standard for Newark go-go bars. The negatives about this place is that there is no pool table or seating away from the bar. You are exposed to the dollar parade at all times. Also, there is not private dancing or lap dancing, everything is done at the bar. The biggest negative about this place is the blatant Champaign hustle going on. When we entered I bought the first round, two domestics. The dancer who can't speak English came and sat with my friend. I couldn't understand what they were talking about as it was in Portuguese but I assume she asked for a drink. The bartender got a bottle out of a cooler poured a shot and mixed it with something else. From they she acted and where she got the bottle it had the feel like it was a fake shot. The dancer on stage came over and he bought her a drink, which appeared to be another fake shot. When the girls left, one to go on stage and one to another customer the bartender was shoving a napkin in front of my friend to by another "lady" drink. Not cool in my book. I would not recommend this place as there are other options in down neck Newark. I rate this poorly for monetary value due to the fake drink hustle.
