The Lodge has to be one...
The Lodge has to be one of the most original strip clubs that I've ever been to. The theme is an old hunting lodge that they really play up. A $5 dollar cover got me inside, and I was told if I got a stamp on my way out that I could come back later that night free of charge. While the Lodge gets a lot of points for originality, it seems to forget what it really is. Upon seeing The Dallas Observer "Best Strip Club" plaque on the wall, I realized I stepped foot into a tourist destination.
The place was sort of empty - not at all crowded like Baby Dolls. I got a $7.25 Shiner Bottle and did some exploring. The place appeals to an older clientele and, after talking to the girl on the second floor restaurant level, I could see why. You're given the option of buying a $500 bottle of champagne to get access up top or you can do a $2500 membership. I don't remember what's included in the membership, just that a car was is involved somehow. Girls are not allowed upstairs unless you invite them. Then whatever you and the girl decide to "do" is between the both of you. Since I'm not from the area I skipped the membership and traveled back downstairs to the stage.
The stage was one of the most interesting features of The Lodge. Girls would exit out of a man made cave and onto the pole. Unfortunately, the few of the dancers that were there should've stayed in the cave. There was a forty something year old woman sitting with a group of guys that looked like a housewife, who I found out was a dancer when she hopped up on the stage to do her set. I got a dance from a thirty something dancer who promised a lot, but delivered really nothing. I want to say it set me back $20 but I could be wrong. Out of the few dancers on shift there was a young twenty something girl but she was occupied with regulars. Of course the bartender on the first floor was the best looking girl there. I watched the show for a little and then headed out.
