Before retiring and moving south, I lived in Essex County NJ not too far from Irvington. Irvington was a dangerous place 20 years ago, and apparently nothing has changed in that regard. After reading TUSCL reviews of Vic’s Place though, it seemed like the joint had the raunch factor one often seeks but seldom finds. Well I was back in Jersey a month or so ago, had a rental car and some free time during the day, so I turned on the GPS, found the place and walked in.

No need to describe Vic’s other than it’s a small dump, and I was the only white face in the place. I’m too old to be viewed as one of the authorities; and as soon as folks realized I had more than a few bucks in my wallet I was made to feel right at home.

In fact I received three Jersey handshakes within 10 minutes of walking in, and was invited to sample the wares of several of the dancers up close and personal if you catch my drift. As noted in other reviews, the gals here have some age on them, and haven’t missed many meals; but there’s something about being offered a BJ at the bar that puts a twitter in my putter regardless. I settled for a more discreet hand-job, although discreet is hardly the way to describe what goes on in Vic’s. Happy to say that my objective was reached in record time, and with only a slight dent in my wallet.
