It has been some time since...

It has been some time since I had visited the Block as I lived in New Jersey for many years. Having moved back to Maryland a couple of years ago, I finally decided to go up and check it out once again. Club Pussycat had always been my favorite and first stop. The interior of the club has been really modernized and cleaned up. Actually it is quite nice as these places go. The layout of the Bar area is basically the same with the dancer stage behind the bar along one side (left) as you walk in. I have always preferred the afternoon shift to the night as the atmosphere and the dancers are somewhat more laid back and there is less hassle and hustle. Unfortunately, I got there quite early, only an hour or so after they opened and the place was a dead at first. Most of the girls were older and there were only a couple of customers, old guys, there. The bartender was friendly and they had a sort of "Customer appreciation" promotion going on (two drinks for the price of one) but you had to pay full price on the beer up front and if you were there long enough to finish the first the second was free. At $8.00 for a beer normally this actually wasn't too bad.

The girls as I said above were almost waking up at this point. Having been in the place in past times I expected to be approached quickly for conversation and to buy drinks. This too happened more slowly that I expected but as I sat sipping my beer some of the ladies did begin to approach me. Again, probably half of the girls were older and frankly not very attractive. Several were ok or decent in looks and I did talk with 2 or three buying drinks for a couple initially. The girls drinks cost $25 for (usually) a shot of something like vodka and a small glass of juice. While expensive this is what I remembered from earlier visits so I was more or less prepared for it. After a girl comes up to "talk", a few minutes later the Bartender approaches to see if you want to buy a drink. A shake of the head (no) and he departs, and so does the girl. Basically I bought drinks for two of the ladies to get a feel for the lay of the land, costs and services offered. While we were talking there was a little physical contact to stimulate other thoughts as a tease but nothing too extreme. I remember in the past some ladies can get aggressive in trying to encourage further activities.

Basically, lap dances at the far end of the Bar seemed to be the main fair as I saw several of the older guys engaged in such. Prices ranged from $60 to $100 depending on time and whether you stayed at the Bar or went to small couches in cubical like rooms at the far end. That is what the House (Bar) got, the dancer's tip was separately negotiated. I found this out when I decided to accompany a lady, named Alissa (I think),to the back for a "private" lap dance. She had seemed to appear after I had been seated for a hour or so. Other than a little "pot" at her waist and some very heavy dark eye liner she was actually fairly nice looking with a reasonably nice body. We settled on the venue (couch) and I paid the Bartender for the $100 drink (the customer also gets a "free" beer). I won't go into great detail on what we did but it was a reasonably standard lap dance with some touching allowed. After we finished the subject of her tip came up. Having been to the Block before, I should have known to resolve such items before you retire with the lady not when you are finished. Bad decision as she did request more than I felt was appropriate and we had to negotiate on the spot. Ultimately we did settle it without a big hassle but a word to others is get that type of thing done up front.

Overall, Club Pussycat was as I had remembered, the place is relatively nice and the girls and charges are pretty much what I had expected going in. I was very surprised that the Block has changed very little over the years.
