My visit was on a Sunday...

My visit was on a Sunday evening, and I had a great time. There were about 8 dancers and about the same number of customers, so maybe it was a slow night. This was fine for me; I tend to dislike big crowds and having to compete for the attention of the dancers. I went there on a recommendation, but I was still pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dancers. Of the dancers, there were at least 5 that I thought were very attractive and would consider buying a dance. I don't know how the Black Cauldron recruits there dancers, but they are doing something right. There are other clubs in Portland that are better known and more popular that are much less impressive from this standpoint. One of the dancers told me that she liked the owner and everyone looked out for each other, so I suspect that has something to do with it.

I liked the atmosphere of the place. All the dancers seemed to be in good moods and willing to spend time talking with the customers. I spent at least an hour each talking to two girls, and neither tried any hard sell for private dances. Actually, neither even brought it up until I did. I did have a private dance with one of the girls, and it was good, but I think overpriced (3 songs for $100). They do openly advertise 2-way contact, but I've seen that at other clubs in Portland for about half the price, so is it really that unusual? The higher price is my only drawback, because I really like the atmosphere and dancers. This place could easily fall into my top 3 favorites. I'll see if I still feel that way after more visits.
