This review comes with a bit...
This review comes with a bit of a story. If you've read my previous reviews, you know that I propped this place after my first visit, but my follow up was pretty awful. I vowed not to return unless more positive reviews were posted. The one before this is positive and reflects my first visit (more on that). I ended up back in this club the other night only because I was with a couple of buddies who wanted to catch up over a few beers.
Our night was ending and we were headed down Britain Road discussing how Jen's and Club 1245 were dead. I pointed out that Dreamer's offered some possibilities but completely sucked. My buddy who was driving decided to be a smart asshole and pull into the place (he's lucky the cops weren't around to see the maneuver he pulled off). Anyhow, we walked inside and saw 6-7 customers at the bar with and equal number of dancers. There was a table full of young people with two dancers sitting with them. We ordered three drinks and grabbed a table near the stage. Wouldn't you know it -- the place was as lame as ever. Dancers would stroll out on the stage, walk back and forth and make a move or two before leaving, looking as bored as hell the entire time. We always tipped and were lucky to even be acknowledged. One of my pals even asked two of the dancers to stop by when she was done. Neither did. We sat for half an hour and realized that no one was getting dances. the girls at the bar showed no interest. Some talked with customers, but mostly they just sipped drinks and looked like they wished they were anywhere else.
After 30 minutes, I was ready to leave, but my wise-assed friend decided to order another round, mainly to piss me off but also because he saw an AA dancer he liked. After she took a seat at the bar, he walked over and asked for a VIP. She agreed, and that was the last we saw of him for 20 minutes. We figured he was having a good time, but when he came back to the table he was mad as hell. It turns out, when he walked into the VIP the dancer walked back out, saying she would return in a minute because she was getting the music set up. She left him sitting there by himself for 15 minutes. When she did return, she gave him the lamest dance possible. She spent the entire time on the other side of the VIP (where have I heard this before), never got topless and then ended the dance early and asked for her tip. My pal pipes up, "Honey, that was the worst dance I've ever had. You shouldn't be paid anything. What you did I can see on stage for free." Her response: "I thought you were a cop."
