Visited Ye Olde Axe on a Monday afternoon, about 2pm. Overall was a little disappointed.

The venue itself is ok. Easy to get to. In a regular street and feels very safe. The venue is small, and not well laid out. The 'stage' is tiny and in a most ridiculous position, which makes watching a girl difficult and not much fun. The only nearby seats actually face away from the stage. really stupid design.

The bar dominates and fortunately the selection and prices are very good. The barmaid. When I attended was very friendly, advised me of the rules and gave me a beer for 2 pounds.
