I found myself is San Diego on the weekend of October 9. I have been to HK a few times before but never on a Friday night. It is quite the experience. Everyone has listed the protocol for parking on the US side near the pedestrian overpass and taking the short walk into Mexico. I crossed about 8:00 p.m. with no problem or wait. You will certainly notice that you are in a different world.

Follow the signs to the yellow taxis and another walkway over the busy street below. Hop in a cab and even if you “no habla español,” just say “Hong Kong” and ask “Cinco, Si?.” It is a $5 ride. My cabbie thought he would be funny and when I said “Hong Kong” he said with a big smile “for Chinese food?”

When you arrive you will probably be let out a few feet past the entrance, nearer the other hot club on the street: Adelitas. If you have the time take a look inside. There’s usually no cover. This club is a little less a party club and more of a front end for the hotel rooms upstairs. It’s worth the look if only to compare with HK. There are some lovely chicas here, too.
