My recent visit to the Flamingo...
My recent visit to the Flamingo seems to portend that better times may be ahead. I visited recently on a Saturday night, and walked away cautiously optimistic about the club's future.
For the first time in a long time, the parking lot was full. Not only that, but a party bus was in the lot with a bachelor party. I can't remember the last time I visited there were so many people there. The atmosphere inside was lively, and there were a lot of dancers working. Dancer quality was very inconsistent, though. It was about 20% knockouts, 40% average looking "girl next door" types, and 40% women that were too unattractive (read: overweight) to be working there.
But here's the good news: I spent some time with an attractive somewhat older dancer who filled me in on the latest state of the club. Apparently the club is under new ownership. And new management. In the past, ownership has shown they don't really give much of a shit about running the club, and I'm told the new owners are more invested and more enthusiastic in the club's success. This is a breath of fresh air, and I hope means that we will soon see a return to the club's glory years, circa 1999-2006. All signs seem to point in that direction, and I'm happy to say that. This club has been wildly inconsistent for several years now. If they just improve the quality of the dancers, I think it'll put the Flamingo back into the top tier of clubs in the area, as it once was a decade ago.
