It was 9 o'clock on a Saturday, but the regular crowd definitely had not shuffled in. Neither had the dancers or other clientele. There were 2 ladies, of uncertain hygiene, one of whom was a bartender. I had heard the place was shaken down by corrupt city officials looking for love in all the wrong places, thought it would be interesting to see the joint and so I entered, not knowing what to expect. Upon receiving my drink,at the normal prices, I waited, thinking someone would begin the normal hustle. Wrong. So I tried to strike up a conversation. Shot down like a nerd in college, not that I can relate. Really. Ok, maybe. Still no luck. It seemed the black mold was more communicative than the employees. Or I was determined to be the pariah that most folks take me for. Not sure. So, I used the restroom, didn't wash my hands so as to keep them cleaner than they would otherwise be had I touched the faucet. I left shortly thereafter. I think I spent about 15 minutes in the establishment. I would compare it, unfavorably with River Girls.
