Last week I got a call...

Last week I got a call from the recently divorced mom of a friend of my sons'. She sort of stumbled around at first, and without saying so directly, she wanted to know if I'd take her son out for a man-to-man so he could get some life advice. He's a good kid, so I agreed to pick him up for a belated 21st birthday lunch.

We started out at Hooter's on Belt Line, and chatted a bit about various things; investing, lifelong physical fitness, and of course women. On the latter, he had clearly been given diametric messages from his parents. His dad was clearly of the school of thought that if it flies, floats, or f*cks, renting is the only way to go. His mom's guidance clearly put him on a course that had already led him to being used as a doormat by one girl. I did my best to give him what I have found to be good advice, but thought a change of venue was needed.

We arrived at BBD's around 5PM, and it was already about 1/3 full. One of the dancers quickly recognized me, and gave me a hug before we sat down. I asked her to come back in 30 minutes or so, and she gave me a cute pout, and then walked sexily away. As I sat down I found my young companion with his mouth hanging open. He looked around the bar, back at me, and then did a perfect imitation of cat in an aviary. There were probably only 40 girls or so there at that point, but as always, there was plenty to look at. After a few minutes I saw him locked onto a really healthy looking Texas blonde, and I excused myself under the guise of going to the bathroom. I asked another dancer if she could endorse the blonde in question, and she said she was somewhat new, but "wasn't a bitch". I then gave her $10 to go suggest that the the blonde to go and sit with my young companion. I stayed back for a few minutes and then rejoined the table, where the blonde was sitting on his lap and whispering something in his ear. While the dancer was looking away momentarily, I gave him $$$, and said "Happy birthday!" I told him that should at least get him some mileage in VIP, other than that he was on his own.
