I had the opportunity to stop by Omar's on a recent week day evening. It was my first visit to Omars in over two years. I counted four dancers and maybe 8 customers at 10PM. The best looking dancer was Raven, a tall ebony dancer with an athletic body. The other dancers were only OK. I enjoyed chatting with Raven-- she's bright and has a good sense of humor. We arranged for a lap dance in the semi-private area upstairs. The dance was good, featuring some two way contact, but certainly not outstanding. The upstairs attendant did not hover around the lap dance area but the lap dance area was pretty open and not conducive to any activities beyond a simple lap dance. She asked for a tip after the dance, claiming that she only kept $7 of the $25 lap dance fee. I gave her a tip and suggested that the club was collecting an unusually high percentage of the lap dance fee.

I went down to the main floor to watch the stage show where the tip routine is mildly entertaining (the customer lies on the stage with a dollar in his (or her) mouth and the dancer finds a creative way to collect the dollar. Seeing no other dancers who peaked my interests, I left after about an hour.

Overall, Omar's is a reasonable place to enjoy a beer, to watch some sports on TV and to watch some dancers gyrate. The talent was only OK during my visit and the lap dances were overpriced and the not especially private. I would return if I was in Lansing on business but I wouldn't go out of my way to travel to Omar's.
