I was in Boston at a conference staying at a Copley Place hotel and decided I needed some entertainment. I decided to walk toward an area known as the Theater District where I have enjoyed many great places to eat and drink. That's when I remembered reading about some club on a street called Lagrange and decided to check it out.
For those unfamiliar, approaching on foot from the west makes a person feel like they are walking down a creepy alley a little. It was late. Anyway, I manned up and neared my destination. Here's the problem: my phone batt died just after I had a chance to figure out where Lagrange was but before I had a chance to reread TUSCL reviews for my options. Most unfortunate! When I arrived, there were two clubs side-by-side. Which to choose? I selected Glass Slipper because it looked a little more like a dive (in the hopes I might find a higher mileage-to-value ratio).
Big mistake. Turns out I overthought the deal. Read later that I picked the wrong club. Glass Slipper had a very odd feel to it. More like a neighborhood bar (not happy like Cheers, more like the dump Archie Bunker might frequent). To tip the dancers on the small stage behind the bar, you kind of had to wad up your money and kind of toss it at them. Wound up settling in to a booth and enjoying/enduring frequent company followed with the drink hustle. Well, when in Rome . . . got one of the lappers -- I suspected it was going to be mostly air and it was. Oh, I forgot, she touched my chest and breathed on me -- how lucky I am!
