Haven’t been down to Tijuana for a number of weeks...a long hot spell in Southern California dampened the desire for sweaty encounters. But earlier this week, I made the short drive south and headed for my all-time favorite escape – Hong Kong Club.

First, some good news on the travel aspect. Vast improvements to the border crossing. The addition of several more lanes coming back into the US has brought back motorists who couldn’t stand the two-hour (and sometimes, more) wait. It’s now down to mere minutes. This upgrade has made for more drivers, but fewer pedestrians and much shorter wait lines to walk back to the US. That’s the way to go for me. Others on this site have accurately described the several parking choices on the US side and the relatively easy walk to the taxi stands across the border. $5 to the driver will still get you to the front door of HK, but giving a buck or two tip would be a nice thing to do.
