On my occasional travels to the Fort Lauderdale area, I always make it a point to visit the Pompano Clubs--with three clubs within a one mile radius, it's a target-rich environment. This trip, I visited Diamond Dolls two consecutive afternoons (Thursday and Friday). Overall I came away with a better impression than on previous visits.

DD's layout and location have been covered in other reviews. Still $2 to park, no cover during the days, $5 lunch specials and happy hour prices on beer and rail drinks until 6:00. I had the lunch special at the bar before the dancers started; good food and pleasant service from the bartenders. Physically, the place looked cleaner than in past visits; also, the lap dance booths recently had new carpet installed.

As far as dancers go, there was (as usual) something for everyone. Median dancer was about a 7, less glamorous than Cheetah but younger than the Booby Trap. Dancers circulated after their stage performances. During past visits, I was a little bit annoyed by the mercenary attitude--for some, it was all about getting you into the lap dance room, often with little interaction beforehand (making it difficult to judge performance before committing to open the wallet. This time was different both days, which greatly enhanced my experience. Thursday it was a blond, not my type, who sat down next to me and engaged in 30-45 minutes of full-contact conversation--at some moments, it felt like making out in High School. She was totally chill, just talking and touching. Due to our compatibility and her sensual nature, I tipped her well without her even asking, and left the club with my attitude adjusted. On Friday, it was a Latina who kept me company. She was great conversation over drinks, interrupted once in a while for some lap dances. Both days, I appreciated the overall relaxed vibe and good service for someone who is neither a regular nor a high-roller.
