The Tally Ho is a fairly small but clean club in Rochester. I went for the first time last month and have been back a couple times since as I've had pretty good experiences. As you walk in, the bouncer/register is on the right, and two small circle stages with poles are to the left. The bar is directly in front of you and there are small tables scatter around the stages along with a booth that stretches around the wall from the door up to the bar. The music is a mix of modern dance/pop, 80's rock, and classic rock and chosen by the dancers except in intermissions between dancers which seem to be chosen by the DJ.
The dancers vary in ethnicity from white, black, and asian, and also have varying attractiveness levels. On average it's a 6/7 with a couple of 5's and 9's thrown in for good measure. This is a topless club and because it's New York, the dancers wear pasties. The dancers seem to be of varying skill level by there isn't much room to maneuver on the stages, so lap dances are the real attraction. This is where you can run into trouble: although the dances tend to be high quality with full contact, the pricing is set by the dancer so rates can vary wildly. Instead of charging by song, they charge a dollar amount per five minutes, which varies from $30-40 per dancer and tends to scale down in cost. The only poor experience I had here was a dancer that sold me 15 minutes of time when I actually only got 10. I became suspicious when it was over after just three songs and confirmed this with the bouncer, but he could do nothing about it. My advice is to have clear guidelines going into the dance to maximize your experience.
