I had a really good time...

I had a really good time at the Midway Invader last night, considering it was monday. As a casual, once-in-a-blue-moon gentlemen's club visitor I really appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and the friendly staff. I did not feel pressured to immediately start buying twelve drinks and twenty private dances. And the lovely ladies (average looks 7.5 out of 10, for those who put stock in such stats), when they did approach me early on, were very gracious when I explained that I just got there and was checking out the stage shows first. I did not get any hard hustle or bad attitude from them.

The club itself is nothing special in terms of architecture. A long rectangular warehouse, done up nicely, with the bar and dj booth near the door at the back, and the big stage at the front, flanked by two big screens. One screen always had sports on, which was nice. The other always had hardcore porn, which I personally don't understand or care for, but to each his own. I think the smut on screen might be there to give patrons an idea of how "liberal" a club Midway Invader is, without having to awkwardly ask, say, one of the dancers. More on that below ...

The atmosphere was lacking a bit, but as I mentioned off the top this was monday night. Not a rowdy crowd, and not a lot of "perverts row" action. On the plus side, this left plenty of seating all around the club, with various views of the stage to choose from. Stingy patrons might consider this next bit a plus - the dancers doing their three songs sets never acted like they were expecting on-stage tips; they were not aggressive, and kept mostly to the middle of the stage. I personally like to tip whenever a good stage performance lures me front and centre, but I don't mind saving a few bucks for drinks and private dances too.
