Visited Portland recently and thought I would combine a meal with some eye candy so stopped in Mary's as it said something like Dinning and dancers. The club is small, long and narrow like many on the Block in Baltimore but felt much cleaner, with a raised stage against one wall just past the bar. Food was available from the restaurant next door. Place your food order with the bartender and the restaurant delivers your meal to the club. I ordered a fish burrito and, being Portland, a great hoppy beer. The burrito was only ok but certainly filling and cheap, about 9 dollars. There were only two dancers but it was early about 7 PM. The dancers were nice "home town" type girls, nothing glamorous. They were very friendly and laughed and joked with the patrons during their dances. There was a private dance area on the back wall, across from the stage, but I was not tempted nor was I approached by either dancer requesting I buy a dance. At one point the number of females in the club, not counting the two dancers or the bartender, out numbered the men. There were a couple of couples, a group of 3 girls at a table and several, I guess friends of the bartender, who where just standing around talking. Don't think I have been in a club where the female "patrons" out numbered the men but the club has a very relaxed atmosphere were women can feel comfortable, or maybe it is just Portland. Finished my burrito and had seen the two girls go through 3 rotations so I decided to leave. Notice another dancer coming in as I was leaving but I went ahead an left.
