Stopped by on a Friday night...

Stopped by on a Friday night on the way home. Had seen the other reviews and looked at the web site and thought, what the heck. I admit, I usually find something good about most clubs I go to but I'm having a lot of trouble with this one. The neighborhood is pretty rough. Police cars all over the place, hauling off guys in handcuffs. (Johns? Can you say sting?) Parking was bad. Small lot and guys trying to avoid door dings by parking anywhere except the lined spots. I parked on the street. (not recommended) A bunch of rough guys hanging around the front door. Not sure if they work there or just waiting to mug someone. Almost turned around right there, probably should have. Once inside, the place was dark and trashy. A large, very high main stage with chairs lined around it and a smaller side stage. A couple of pool tables (one was broken) and the bartender around the back of the main stage. It didn't look like there was a disk jocky, the girls were picking songs on a jute box before going on stage. A row of tables tall tables line one side of the stage and some smaller ones on the other. Otherwise there was a scattering of a few chairs here and there. Most people looked like they were just standing. Speakers were on the floor and wiring was loose around the base. (no Cal OSHA inspections here) Now to the actual entertainment. I saw the same dancer take her top off and put it back on for six songs in a row. She was not particularly pretty, but better to look at than the rest of the room. There were no stage lights, so what you saw was a dark shadow moving around the stage. The regulars must know her because there was clapping betwen each song, but not a lot of tips. After waiting through her whole set and part of the next, the waitress still hadn't bothered to come by and sell me a drink. She hadn't bothered to ask anyone else either so I didn't feel too bad. Had all I could take at that point and left. All in all not a great trip. Had a better time watching the hookers on the street corners while waiting for the stop lights on my drive home.
