At long last, I broke out...

At long last, I broke out of my normal NYC routine and tried Flasdancers. Had heard different things but decided to give it a try. The club is in a basement in a nice part of Manhattan. Not all that roomy but arriving at about 9:30, there was still lots of table seating available. Sat near the stage and was very impressed with the quality of the dancers. Mostly fit, natural, young and attractive. A couple outliers but in general the scenery was great. Lots of the dancers seemed unbelievably bored or indifferent, however. The ones on the side stages would sleepwalk throu a few dances without a smile or any eye contact anywhere. I enjoyed a few dances in the couch area at the end of the room. Not much privacy but for $20 a pop, not terrible at all given how attractive the women were. Still, the lack of any real energy was weird. I got a few dancers to try explaining the VIP, which sounded unusual. Made it sound like a couple different levels with the only "actual" VIP being well north of $1,000 to even get started. Without any idea of what hidden costs get piled on top of that, I decided to pass. Still spent abut $500 for the dances and drinks without venturing there. All and all, a nice club, great talent, and decent enough atmosphere. May try it again for the convenience factor of the midtown location.
