It was probably around 10pm when I wandered over to Solid Gold. I've been here before, and, to be honest, I don't know why I've gone back.

The first thing you wind up doing is paying your cover (natch), seven bucks if I remember right, to the young lady at the counter. She then gives you a quick little pat-down. (This was the highlight of my visit.) I hit the bar right off for a Coke, about another five bucks. The bartender was a very good-looking brunette, someone who should've been dancing, but given her energy and hospitality level, she might as well have been home sleeping.
