This was my first visit to Cabaret Royale, and, based on the mixed reviews here, I was curious to see how it went. I went on a Saturday from about 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. As others have noted, you can drive past the valet parking to a large “free” lot, but there were signs posted saying it was a tow-away lot. I didn’t know whose lot it was or whether it was enforced, so I just parked on the street for free.

The cover was $6.00 (or $15, I think, for VIP, which I declined based on reviews here). As soon as I got inside, a waitress asked if she could seat me. Since I only visit strip clubs when I travel around the country and am always by myself, I like to roam around the club a bit and prefer not to stayed parked in one place. I said, “Can I sit anywhere?” She said, “Sure. How about here?” Well, “here” was at a small table right between the two satellite stages with a great view of the main stage just a little farther away. I actually did stay put except to do some stage tipping. It was happy hour, and beers were $3.00.

I had just been to Baby Dolls the night before, and the dancers at Cabaret Royale are definitely a step down from that, but there were certainly enough good-lookers to hold my interest. They were all fairly young, and though most were white, there were also AA, Hispanic, and Asian dancers working. The girls were all pretty friendly; I was seated such that they all at one point or another walked in front of me, and, since it was not too busy, many if not most came to sit in my lap to chat.
