Stiletto’s in Nanuet is changing. After many years of being as predictable as clockwork, its now a different place. First of all, many of you may know that the stage layout has been changed from one main and 2 smaller stages that were opened progressively as the night wore on, to one large oddly shaped stage in the center surrounded by fixed captain’s chars. There are two seating areas not right on the stage – one row of bench seats to the left of the entrance, and then a single bench seat by the men’s room door. The first set of benches has a ‘cordon’ that separates the seating from the stage and would seem to discourage sitting there but house rules allow it. Cover charge before 7:00 p.m. was $15 and includes one bottle of water or a glass of soda. DJ’s can show music videos on a pretty good sized screen on the far wall from the entrance.
Now for the ‘different’ part – there was a gap between the early shift and the night shift – the gap was around 8:00 p.m. and lasted at least 20 minutes – with no dancers on stage the entire time. There were very few dancers up until 8:30 – I would estimate four. Most unfortunate is that the dancer quality has really dropped – while the dancers are still very friendly and not pushy, etc. for a Saturday night it was very slim pickings. I have no idea if Saturday night is typical, but I surely cannot recommend Stilettos before 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
