This was my first time at the Gold Club. My previous experiences with Tampa strip clubs were at clubs on Westshore and Dale Mabry, which are generally pretty small and tend to get very crowded on Saturday nights. The GC, by comparison, is fairly large and spacious, and I didn't feel like I had to fight for a seat at the bar. And hanging out at the bar is mainly what I did -- some old friends of mine were in town, and we were in the mood to drink, catch up on old times, and look at naked girls. Drink prices at the bar were fairly reasonable for a strip club. My only complaint about this is that the shot girls were maybe a bit too persistent, and the prices for their shots was a bit too much.

As far as the dancers go, I only got lap dances from two dancers in the standard LD booths in the back. The booths are just rows of booths facing each other. They at least have partitions on either side, but when I was there the booths were pretty full and I could see everything that was going on across from me, so it didn't feel exactly private. Of course, that's why they have VIP rooms and champagne rooms, but I didn't spring for those so I can't speak to that. They also have an option to go "upstairs" with a dancer for (if I remember right) an hour for $700.

Both dancers I had were great, although I didn't try for any extras and didn't get any (but that's not why I went there that night). They were both very friendly and talked to me for a while before and after the dances. So, overall I'd recommend the Gold Club if you're looking for a place to hang out at a bar with some buddies, but maybe not if you're looking for any real action in the booths (unless you're a bit of an exhibitionist and don't care that other dancers and patrons can easily see you).
