I was in Gastonia for business, nothing to do on a Saturday night, so I decided to check out Leather & Lace. It's a generic square brick building, nothing fancy. There was a $15 cover to enter, which after entering seemed a bit much.

There didn't seem to be much energy in the club, there were about 8 dancers there, but they seemed to just be walking around with 4 or 5 often just entertaining each other. I'm not sure if this is the normal vibe here or if it's a case of my being from Philadelphia and accustomed to a more energetic and fast paced vibe.

The girls were decent looking, none really bad looking, and none that you would really notice in a crowded room. I must say the DJ was trying to put some energy in the place with his music selection, and it did pick up slightly around 10:30-11:00, I arrived a little after 9:00.

The most disappointing aspect of this club was what they refer to as their V.I.P. area, this was merely a sectioned off area roughly 10x6, with a couch, and a swinging half door. There was definitely nothing VIP about this with the exception that the girls take their tops off there. If there are any more than 6 people there, you're sitting on top of one another.

Overall, I wouldn't rate this club too high, but unless you feel like driving to Charlotte (about 20-30 minutes, there really isn't much else to do in Gastonia N.C., so this makes Leather & Lace a viable option by default.
