Mardi Gras remains by far the best strip club in the Springfield area. But its had its ups and downs over the past few years. Thankfully the talent appears to be on an upswing again judging by my visit this past Friday night. Here’s some details. Mardi Gras is located downtown amidst Springfield’s other popular night clubs. Early in the night the city can be a bit deserted/sketchy. But later on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights there’s a decent crowd downtown and usually a heavy police presence on both the streets and at the Gras itself. Getting to and from I-91 and the Mass pike is a relatively short and easy drive through a commercial area of office buildings and hotels. Just beware of the occasional DUI checkpoints that are set up especially near the highway entrance ramps. The club has it’s own large secure fenced-in parking lot out front that is accessed from Worthington Street. However it costs $5 to park there and you pay when you pull in. Both the parking spaces and aisles of the club’s lot are very tight. I don’t think there’s any valet parking either. If the Gras’s lot is full, you can park in the lot across the street for $7. You enter the club through the doors under the big awning towards the club’s parking lot. At night they collect a $7 cover. I’ve very rarely been asked to show my ID and even then they only took a quick look. The club has a metal detector, but it’s mostly just for show. The club is spread over two floors. The first floor is divided into two large rooms. The front room where you enter the club has a very long bar that wraps along the walls on the right. On your left is the stairs to the second floor. The restrooms are to your far left past the stairs. The main stage is in the room directly behind the front room and is visible in the distance from the entrance. The main stage is massive and doubles as the bar. The ladies literally slide your drink to the side when they dance for you. There’s probably seats for at least 100 patrons. But even with all the seats, it gets really crowded on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Seats at the bar/stage can even be difficult to find early in the evening. A draft beer will set you back $3. Domestic and imported bottles are both $5. Food is available in the adjoining 350 Grill restaurant next door that’s owned by Mardi Gras (and so is takeout;) The club posts the dancers schedules on its website. However it’s accurate only half the time. On my visit there was only around 15 to 20 dancers working. That’s a lot fewer then back in the day when usually more than 50 ladies worked every weekend night. But the talent that was here was much better than on my previous visit. Above average IMHO. Nearly all the ladies were attractive. The dancers were mostly either white or Latina and in their early to mid 20’s. There were a couple of Asians as well. Unlike my previous visits, there was a good variety of looks and shapes this time- blonds, brunettes, tall, short, natural tits, fake, small and tight to big beef curtains, etc. It seems like most of the bitchy super skinny chics that dominated this place for the last few years moved on (or at least on this visit). Even better news is that the pushy skinny old blond with big fake tits that looked like a transvestite was gone. I’m not good with remembering stripper names. The only one I recall is “Joscelyn” because it was tattooed across her ass. But here’s a description of a few of the ladies that caught my eye on this past visit. One was a very young petit Oriental spinner with long curly black hair that looked like a Chinese-Philippino mix (had lighter skin with wider eyes). She had smaller perky tits with puffy nipples. Only two small Chinese character tats on her side. And a fortune cookie that made my shlong want to go dong. Another was a young spinner with long curly brown hair that had a slight resemblance to a young Keri Russell (but even hotter). She was pretty good on stage especially when she collected a tip out of my lap using her oral skills. I would’ve taken her for a spin. But she kept her panties firmly on even with very generous tipping and I always believe you should be able to try before you buy. But the highlight of my evening was a bodacious young blond stunner that looked like SI model Kate Upton. She had the body of a goddess and the face of an angel. I was completely sober when I first saw her up close and I have to say she was a 10! No tattoos, no stretch marks, no needle marks and only a couple of small piercings. The Gras puts between 5 to sometimes as many as 10 dancers on stage every half hour. All the ladies rotate on/off at the same time like a shift change. But they can leave the stage to give lap dances. Even with many dancers on stage, the half hour sets can sometimes be too long for both the patrons and the dancers. As far as the stage show, on this visit it was good. Unlike my previous visit, this time about three quarters of the ladies got all nude. Many of the ladies gave really good contact (boob massage, pussy in face and let you caress their ass) for a $2 tip. A couple even made their way into my lap and gave me what would qualify as a very good lap dance at many clubs for just a $2 tip. The lap dances here cost $25 each. They’re done in a room on the right side of the club separated from the main stage area by a latticed screen. Before you enter the LD room you have to “check in” at entrance to the LD room. And upon exiting you have to stop once again to settle-up with your dancer and the club takes its $5 per song cut from her. Unfortunately there’s absolutely zero privacy in the LD room. The lap dances are given on ordinary couches that are scattered along the walls without any screening. So you’re in plain view of everybody else in the room and anyone looking through the lattice from the bar area too. As you can imagine this limits your experience to a PG-13 rating. The patrons downstairs are a mix of college kids, working class people, biker types and even businessmen in suits. Usually the gangster crowd sticks to Center Stage down the street. There’s about an even mix of singles, groups and couples. About a quarter of the patrons are female. Towards the end of the night, it seems like everybody that went clubbing downtown ends up here. The upstairs of the Gras has a very different clientele and atmosphere. There’s no stage upstairs. The patrons tend to be older white collar/businessmen types. In contrast to the loud ear piercing rock, rap and techno played downstairs, the upstairs is much more quiet and relaxed. And I’ve never seen the cops go upstairs. The upstairs is also much more fancy than downstairs which looks like the inside of an old warehouse. Anyone can go upstairs unescorted. At the top of the stairs you’ll find a lounge area with a large bar and several sofas that looks sort of like a hotel lobby. Around the back of the stairs and then to the right leads to restrooms on the right then a small bar and finally the Champagne Room. The small bar in front of the CR is where the Gras’s regulars hangout. Dancers will quote a CR at $150 for 15 minutes and $260 for a half hour- both include the house fee. But most will do it for less. The house fee ($50 for 15/$60 for half hour) is paid directly to the club at the bar before you enter the CR. The rest directly to your entertainer. The bar maid then escorts you into the CR. The CR is a very large dimly room that is divided by beaded glass curtains into individual “rooms” that are off a L-shaped floor lit path. Each of the “rooms” is fairly large and has a big coffee table and a large cushy sofa complete with big pillows that can cum in handy. In contrast to the lap dance room, the CR is very dark and there’s enough screening to give you adequate privacy. And the farther back you go in the CR the better the privacy. Nobody patrols the CR either. Even time-up is called from a distance. All I’ll say about the CR is that YMMV, but I had a lot of fun times there over the years! Bottom line- the Gras is a great place to go out for a few beers and see naked ladies. And if the talent remains as good as it was on my last visit, I’m looking forward to cumming here more often.<br>
