Stopped by CL on my way...

Stopped by CL on my way through Providence today hoping to run into an old favorite. This place has really let itself go downhill. For years everyone has raved that CL is the best club in the area but that's not the case anymore. Physically there is still a lot going on, although the lighting could be improved somewhat and the bar is dated. There was no cover on this Saturday afternoon, but that changes as the day wears on. Imported beer was $6/bottle. No, the biggest problem at CL is the lackluster dancers. In the hour it took for the girls to cycle through the center stage there were only 3 girls that were even worth tipping for. Very little effort was made by girls on the floor to strike up any sort of conversation (two, to be precise). One was VERY forward, not even attempting to make any small talk (I like the small talk). Asian looks but full-blooded East Providence. Offered a confusing set of options for dances, I took the 15 minute couch dance for $125. High mileage like you expect in a Providence club. Had the feeling that if the more expensive 15 minute room was selected there were additional options available. YMMV.
