This is the last club I visited on a recent trip to Michigan and the last club I will be reviewing. Playhouse used to be one of my favorite clubs once upon a time and a must-visit every time I flew in. I'm afraid those days are over, at least temporarily. I have read the dreary reviews, but I thought I'd see for myself. I was on the way back to my hotel from the Flight Club, but before turning in, I decided to drive a little farther down Middlebelt and check out the Playhouse. I asked the valet attendant how things were, and he shrugged his shoulders and said I should find out for myself. Unfortunately, I did. I walked in and the cover charge was generously waived. I sat by the bar and there was one lady on stage and one other sitting with a guy at one of the tables. Besides me, there were only three other customers in the place. Eventually another lady showed up, but nobody I would spend too much time with. The ladies (I say ladies not girls because these dancers were quite matronly) were all on a thicker scale than I am used to. I had one beer. The bartender, as others have remarked, was hottest female in the place. I cut my losses and left, leaving most of my Bud in the bottle. That is the final time I will patronize this club, unless the reviews get much more positive.
