Hadn't been to the "5" for...

Hadn't been to the "5" for a long time. The club is in a sketchy (but safe) area of town, but not easy walking distance from anywhere. Going in on a Thursday meant seats were available, the crowd was in a good mood, and there was a good ratio of dancers to customers. Friday/Saturday usually means SRO. The club has been cleaned up since I was last there (could swear there's a new carpet) and they "re-felted" the pool table. The VIP dancers were a MUCH higher quality than I remembered. $15 cover, $50 per lap dance. Didn't go for a private dance this visit, but the girls have always been great in my previous experiences. The "VIP Room" is upstairs and booths are spacey and separated by a curtain. The feature dancers are a mixed bag, and have been for a while. Some great and full of energy, but others dull and seemed to want a nap. Don't know if that's function of rates being lowered (less clubs to work) or the appreciation for acts have declined. I've always liked the show, so I kinda miss the atmosphere that used to exist for a good feature. No. 5 Orange has greatly improved and I have to recommend a visit (best lap dances in Vancouver, at the very least).
