On my recent trip to Michigan, I visited Players, the second club I will be reviewing this time. I go way back with Players and I have been an eye-witness to its many transformations. It has, over the years, been a hit and miss place for me. This trip, however, was a very low point. I visited three times: Friday afternoon into the evening, Monday afternoon, and Tuesday afternoon. I have to say that the quality of the girls on hand was pretty low, according to my standards. I would say a few sevens in all that time; the rest, sixes and lower, much lower. What happened to all the slim young girl-next-door types. Well, a couple of them were spending a lot of time with the booth inhabitants and never got around the room. And I did have a dance with one lady named Lynn, who was very nice. Other than that, nada. What a disappointment! The only great thing about Players that I can tout is the food. I was a bit hungry Friday evening after my plane trip and, while searching the menu, was informed by the waitress that they had a steak special: strip steak and two sides for 10 bucks. Well, I'll bite. So she eventually brought out a pretty good-sized steak, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. Delicious!!! What a deal! A great steak dinner and a bottle of Bud for $13 bucks. Clearly better than any meal served at the Penthouse. Unfortunately that is about all that I can really tout at Players this trip. Also the no-smoking law is openly flouted.
