Got to Atlanta very late. Definitely too late to go to Follies so thought I'd try the Pink Pony again before it might get shuddered. Parking lot was full, but able to still self park. Got the pat down from the armed security at the door after paying the $3.00 parking charge. Paid the $10.00 cover and was asked if I wanted a table right after entering the club. Refused since I wanted to explore a little bit first and not have to tip unnecessarily. That may have been a mistake. The club was packed. Not a seat available anywhere and bottle service required in the booths that were all full. I thought I was back at the frat house for a swap. All the college kids (men and women) were being college kids. The consolation was that I was somewhat able to force my way around to view a lot of the dancers and all the stages. No doubt looks wise these were the hottest dancers I have seen in the city in a long, long time.
I finally got a seat at the back bar. Hermosa, an athletic mixed spinner immediately approached me and introduced herself. I had previously made eye contact with her when she was on one of the secondary stages and got a nice smile. We made small talk for about 20 minutes and she then asked to do some dances. After two air dances that the dj cut the songs to about 3 minutes each, I could see this was going nowhere. I asked about more and she said nothing more was available even in champagne room. I decided to stop being teased and head on out.
What a shame. If the club would adopt just half the liberal attitude that Follies has, it would be one of the top clubs in the country. I don't know if the issues with the city of Brookhaven have caused the strict rules or I just met the wrong dancer. I do know I didn't see anyone getting much more than I got on the floor. I did see a card asking patrons to contact the city of Brookhaven to voice their opposition to the new rules. As always YMMV.
