I hadn't been to any Des Moines clubs before visiting The Lumber Yard (TLY) last week. TLY is a very large building, with an architecturally pleasing three-level design. There were two HUGE big-screen televisions showing sporting events. Because I was there on a Tuesday (more later), it was very crowded. Each of three stages connected by steps seated about 20 or more patrons, and every seat was full when I arrived at about 10:00. It is BYOB, and many of the tables away from the stages were also in use.

The dancers ranged from 4-7, although there were quite a few to choose from. Many had parts (i.e. face, breasts, butt, attitude, etc.) approaching a 10, but none had the whole package.

On Tuesdays, it is apparently two-for-one on private dances (which explains the crowd). I overheard some dancers complaining about the amount of work this required, and that was reflected by no dancers seeking a dance from me. Without waitresses (since it is BYOB), I was relatively unbothered - in fact, I had to go find a dancer to get a private! (or eight).
