Follies has gotten a lot of...

Follies has gotten a lot of high praise so I wanted to check it out myself on my recent visit to Atlanta. Its a hell of a club, and has a lot going for it, but at the end of the day I don't think I'm going to return. Here's the deal...<br>

I arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday night not sure what to expect given the reviews I'd read. It was crowded, but there were plenty of tables to sit at. I grabbed a beer (only $5) and found an empty table. As far as the club is concerned it's pretty big with a bunch of girls working. It's dark and decently smoky, but not so much that my eyes hurt or anything. Drinks are cheep by my standards so that's a plus. It wasn't too mixed of a crowd, mostly African American and Latino guys. Everyone I met was cool and in fact I had a good chat with a few new friends.<br>

As I got my bearings a girl or two did a quick drive by for table dances. I passed them up until one came who was pretty attractive. I got a table dance from her which was a little odd given how out in the open it was. Not a bad dance but it was mostly air. As I looked around I noticed that the high tops on the sides really are the best place to sit for dances. I killed my beer and eventually one of those high tops opened up so it snagged it. From there I got a steady stream of girls asking for dances and I took the good looking ones up on the offer. The dances were MUCH better at the high tops both because the girls could get closer and because it didn't feel so open to the viewing public. Dances at the high tops were a lot more hands on too. It did seem like about a quarter of the girls had their guys they hung out with and had no interest making the rounds which was a little disappointing as they happened to be some of the more attractive ones. Eventually I left my high top to hit the bathroom and when I got back it was occupied. By this time the club was packed (around midnight) so I found an empty seat and had another beer. I got another dance but the frequency of girls coming by was much slower compared to the big tops. The dances I did get were back to mostly air as well.<br>
