I was recently in CT for a business trip and after a long day of meetings I decided to take the train into the city for dinner and a "show." After grabbing a bite to eat I hit up TUSCL for strip club recommendations in the Big Apple and settled on Flashdancers. The place was very easy to find and just a short walk from Times Square and more importantly for me, the subway. As other reviewers have mentioned the club is in a basement so be prepared to walk downstairs to enter. There is also a mandatory coat check so if you happen to wearing a jacket or sport coat be prepared for that. The inside of the club was quite small as to be expected in NYC, but to my surprise the place didn't feel cramped. The club was dimly lit and for being a weeknight it was surprisingly full but there was plenty of seating around the bar and visibility of the main stage wasn't bad at all. Speaking of the bar, drinks were a bit pricey ($12 for a beer) but then again, nothing out of the ordinary for the area. After checking my coat and grabbing a bottle of Stella I took an open seat at the bar and started scoping out the talent. There were a few girls dancing on the main stage and one girl on each of the two small stages behind the bar. I didn't get an actual head count but I'd say there were easily 20+ girls working, maybe more and at any one time there were three or four dancing on stage. Most of the dancers were Eastern European but overall there was a decent mix of ethnicity, race and body types. Since I was on a fairly tight schedule (I had to make sure I was back at Union Terminal to catch the last train of the night back to CT) I figured I'd find a dancer I liked, get a dance or two and be on my way. Lucky for me the second or third rotation of dancers I saw included a smokin hot, curvy Romanian dancer on one of the small bar stages. I threw a few good tips her way while she danced and when her rotation behind the bar was finished she came over and sat with me. We chatted it up for a bit before I asked her for a dance. Surprisingly, she wasn't pushy at all which was awesome. I would also like to note that while I was sitting at the bar I was approached by several dancers asking me if I was ready for a dance but none of them acted offended when I declined. Again, that was much appreciated especially since I didn't have a lot of time and was looking for a specific type of dancer before I committed to a private dance. Anyway, the private dance area of the club is located on both sides of the main stage. Each side has a large, L shaped couch along the wall where the private dances occur. It's not exactly private per say but if you get the right dancer and can sit in the corner you'll have plenty of privacy. The lighting is even lower in the private dance area which I found to be a plus. Dances were $20 each which I thought was a steal! I was so shocked at the price that I agreed to two dances up front and I definitely got my money's worth. The dances included plenty of two way action with a little extra touching every now and then. For being on a giant couch in the corner of the room you'd never know it. I don't think I even noticed anyone else back there and I was lucky to find such a skilled dancer. She definitely knew what she was doing and made sure I left a satisfied customer. After the first two dances I decided to take a break and head back to the bar. I still had a half hour before I needed to head out so I grabbed another beer and relaxed for a bit. I was approached by a few more dancers but none of them were really my type. Just before I was about to leave I spotted the same Romanian dancer from earlier and decided on one more dance before I left. Again, it was nothing short of fantastic and was a great way to end the night. All in all I can't complain about my experience at Flashdancers. I was there for almost two hours and I think I spent $120 in total which included cover, the coat check, drinks, tips and three dances. With that said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this club to anyone visiting NYC and I definitely intend to return the next time I'm in town.
