I was in NYC for work...
I was in NYC for work and had most of the day to explore the city. As I was making my way to the Empire State Building, I just happen to stumble across Rick's. I had a little over an hour to spare before my meeting, so I opted for a quick visit.
I walked in and showed my ID to the valet. I checked my bag and coat before walking into the main area. When you first walk in, there is a stage on your left and the bar straight ahead. There is also a smaller stage and the restrooms on the right. I was taken to a table near the main stage and ordered an $8 Diet Coke.
After a few minutes, a girl from the stage came down and sat with me. I bought her an $8 Bloody Mary and we chatted. She was from Long Island, and fairly nice. The dances were $20 a piece (man, I sure am spoiled living in Atlanta). I got a couple of decent dances with some good contact from her side. She asked me if I wanted to visit VIP. For 15 minutes, the cost was $120-150. For 30 min it was $300-350. I told her it was too rich for my blood, but she really tried to convince me. She said, "Are you sure you don't want a quick release before your meeting?" She was certainly speaking the right language, but I just didn't have the time (or money). I had heard that the city was low on extras, but this jewish girl from Long Island was definitely game.
