I went to Rick's last Friday. I hadn't been to Rick's in a while. The club hasn't changed much since I was last there, except for one thing that's a little disturbing and it's really not the fault of Rick's.

I was escorted to the far corner between the two dance stages and ordered my drink as usual. The dancers are still as beautiful as ever. There's something for everyone here. I won't mention names or even who I spoke with because I don't want to stigmatize any of the lovely ladies I spoke to.

I was approached by a handful of dancers trying to coax me to go back and have a private dance with them. One of them finally met the characteristics I find attractive and I went off for a dance. The dance was a bit disappointing. I got limited contact and the dancer seemed very distant. I quickly paid for my dance but didn't tip. I got a very unthankful response, but she escorted me out of the dance area. I recognized this and felt bad so I told her I usually tip but her dance wasn't what I was used to at Rick's. I said I usually get a little more action than that and I wasn't talking about anything illegal. She then asked me something very strange. She asked me if I was a cop. I reassured her I wasn't a cop and that my buzz cut was strictly a personal style choice. She looked skeptical so I showed her my work ID. She gave a bit of a smile and asked me if I'd like another dance. She promised something more to my "usual" Rick's dance. I decided to go for it. She didn't disappoint. It wasn't the best dance I've had at Rick's (I actually got 3 dances from her) but it was what I've come to expect as a high standard of contact for dances.
