Passing through Bridgeport, so I thought...
Passing through Bridgeport, so I thought I'd check this out. First off, in the daytime I don't think this area is as bad as some reviews make it out to be. Only acouple of blocks off the highway. If you are uncomfortable around hispanics and blacks, then stay away.
Went in about 2:30pm on Sunday. Forgot about reading about the $5 cover and the pat-down; bouncer at the door quickly reminded me with a firm hand across my chest and an indelicate patdown. Not a problem. Definitely a well-worn locals place, but the dancers will give fresh meat attention as I imagine they know the likelihood of our pockets being flusher. The place has character. If you don't care for character, stay the hell away from Bridgeport.
Maybe a half dozen locals sitting round the bar, some dancers cozying up to a few (and they could have 'em), a few dancers congregating at the far corner of the rectangular bar that probably seats about 20. Up at eye-level is a dance stage that runs almost the length of the bar with a single pole in the middle. Up a few step on the other side of the stage are maybe 6 armless chairs for sitting 'at the rail'. Dancers put their songs on a jukebox (LOUD) that is between the bathrooms and right next to the 'dressing room'. Opposite the stage on the upper level are two pool tables and beyond that the VIP dance area (more below).
