Deja Vu-meh
I walked to Deja Vu on a Thursday night around 8:30 pm from my hotel, about a 15 minute walk.
When I arrived, the guy at the door frisked me, and didn’t ask for a cover charge. He asked if I had alcohol, and I didn’t. Then, he explained the TN 3 foot rule, basically, that dancers have to stay 3 feet away from you. So, I went inside.
PLACE
This was a bit of an odd experience for me, and the inside was quaint enough. When I walked in, I saw the main stage to the left, smaller tables and chairs around the stage, and a row of larger, high backed chairs along the wall on the right. At the time, there were several couples (in their 40s maybe) sitting at the stage, laughing and having a good time chatting with the dancers. This certainly feels like a locals hangout with a friendly vibe. It was clean, but the tables and chairs seemed old with a few rips. Lighting was dark, but the music level was just right and I could hear the DJ just fine.
PEOPLE
There seemed to be around 12 or so dancers there. Mostly black, and I did see one Caucasian dancer and one Latina. The dancers were friendly and came up to me to chat, asking if I wanted a dance. I said no thank you to a thin Caucasian girl, as her face just wasn’t pretty. Then O asked a thicker black girl for a dance, her name was Lola, I believe, and she took me to the row of high backed chairs along chairs. The dancers was ok, and she most certainly did not maintain the 3 foot rule. There was a little grinding, and she asked me not to touch, but the weirdest was the bouncing up and down on my junk…very um…uncomfortable. She also did not remove any clothes. After about two songs, I thanked her and I went back to the tables near the stage. Then, it was announced for all the girls working to walk across the stage, and if you get a dance with one, you get a Deja vu t shirt. So, the girls paraded around, and I chose a thinner black girl for another dance in the chairs. It was similar to the first dance, but that’s when I noticed the hot, thin, black gurl on stage who was topless. So, “lap dances” are clothed but girls will get topless on stage. Again, lots of the bouncing thing again, but the combo of the private dance and hot girl on stage got me where I needed to be. I paid, then she brought me my free t shirt, then headed back to my hotel.
PRICE
All in all, I paid $30 each for the two dances, and for whatever reason I wasn’t charged a cover. I did notice a sign in the club pointing to an upstairs room indicating the VIP room. It read “100 for 10 minutes and $200 for 30 minutes.” I really wasn’t interested in VIP after the lackluster dances.
The only other club to go to near me was the Hustler, and I do prefer Deja Vu. It wasn’t the best, but if there’s nothing else to do you could have a little fun here.
