I went to Book ’Em Dan’O at 18:15 on a Saturday. The club is located in the basement of a storefront in downtown Denison. The main entrance is off of Main Street, and there is a second entrance through a rear door in the alley. There is free slanted parking on the street out front. There was no cover charge to enter. The bar has eight stools and is located on the right wall. Moving further along the right wall is the stage, which has one pole. The rear of the club has a pool table and a foosball table. The front wall facing Main Street has three video slot machines, which are pretty tight. Music is played off of a jukebox. Sincweisers were $4. From 16:00 to 18:00 every day is a Happy Hour where there is $1 off all beer and $2 off all liquor. Chips and candy bars are $1.50. King size candy bars are $2.50. There is no other food served, but management is okay with customers bringing takeout or getting food delivered. There was a taco truck parked a half block from the back door of Book ‘Em Dan’O.
Private dances take place in two booths built into the back wall of the club. The booths have small leather couches and opaque red curtains providing privacy from the rest of the club when drawn closed. Private dances are $30 per song. Dancers keep $25, and $5 goes to the club. Dancers get topless, and customers are allowed to touch the dancers everywhere. I had a couple coworkers that frequented this club around eight to ten years ago. They used to routinely get blow jobs and sex during private dances. I am not sure if extras are still possible here, but it would seem awkward with people shooting pool just on the other side of the curtains.
On Friday night, there were six dancers working: Brooklyn, Chocolate, Diamond, Gigi, Mirage, and Phoenix. Dancers tend to be Iowa “porkers”. On Saturday night, only Brooklyn was working. I left after a few beers, so I am not certain any more dancers came in after 20:00. Brooklyn is Caucasian with brown hair and D cups. She is curvy and too porky for my tastes. I’d rate her at a 5. She got locked down with a regular and was in a private dance booth or at his table most of the time I was at Book ‘Em Dan’O. Most dancers drive in from Omaha, Des Moines, or Sioux City.
This is the only strip club for miles around after Ossy’s Show Club in Carroll got shut down for employing underage dancers. I don’t think I would return to Book ‘Em Dan’O unless I was working within twenty minutes of Denison. Supposedly, the original owners name was Dan, so that is why the club’s name is a famous phrase from Hawaii Five-0.
