After checking out a couple of Bourbon Street clubs I decided to step into Dixie Divas on recent Thursday night. It turned out to be a very good experience, one I wasn't expecting based on the other reviews of this place. A lovely dancer named Sasha walked with me to the bar when I entered, and she sat very close and talked and nuzzled and caressed all the right spots for 15 minutes or so, and she gave the run down on the dance options. After hearing about $400 privates at Temptations and $240 privates at Big Daddy's I was very glad to hear that at Divas I could get 30 minutes for $120 plus tip. But I wasn't ready, so Sasha arranged for a friend to come sit. That dancer didn't do much for me at all, and soon she left and an older, well-traveled dancer started her sales pitch with lots of physical contact. After what was in reality a very nice lap dance at the bar I tipped her $5 and told her I wasn't ready yet. She wandered off, but two more times she came by and gave me some serious attention. In the end, Sasha had won me over, so she and I went off to the private room. She was very good, and I left quite satisfied, having given her a tip equal to the room fee. Sasha had explained early on that Diva's is about providing company and conversation, not about dancing on a table for dollar tips, with the expectation that the conversation and company will lead to a private dance. Not a bad way to go, and much more reasonable than Bourbon Street.
