As others have noted Doll House...

As others have noted Doll House reopened at noon on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 6105 Phillips Hwy, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Recently I reviewed Doll House before it reopened. Now that it is open, here are my early impressions. When Doll House closed several of the girls went to work at Sinsations and they have returned to Doll House. Certainly the Russian transplant Katya is back. The old club was cramped, with poor quality facilities. But the best feature of the old club was that it had private VIP areas. The talent generally were good. My overall impression of the new club is that Charlie had a good opportunity to build new top notch club with new younger beautiful girls with a right mix with old experienced hands. I only saw the old talents. A better talent mix for the new club is sorely needed. What I saw in the new club is a good club, but not a top notch one. It just opened and there is plenty of time to hire new talent and improve. After a long wait for reopening I probably expected too much.

The club's interior and stage are very dark. It takes a long time for the eye to adjust to the place and not stumble on to other customers or chairs. Unless it is meant to hide the girls, lighting should be improved. The furniture is new, but nothing to write home about. It is nothing like Wackos and others. The stage is new and improved in that customers can seat on 3 sides. The private dance area in new, but has no privacy as it is separated from the main area only by a glass window. Privacy loss could be significant for some customers and dancers. Men's room is weird in that there are no men's stalls. It looks like women's restroom labeled as men's. Men trying shoot at the center of regular toilet can only lead to dirty bathrooms after a few customers. I hope they correct this. Day time admission is $5 (used to be $3) and a minimum purchase of one drink (about $3 for water, soda). $5 will get the stage dancers naked for 1 song. This is weird custom for a nude club. One would have expected girls to perform nude dances on stage and customers then tip them if they like the performance. Having to first pay is a lost opportunity for both dancers and customers. Many clubs in JAX and other areas do not charge admission fees during day shift, for example Wackos. Doll House should follow suit to bring in enough customers. Enough customers could support enough good quality dancers.

The VIP room is $25/song. Occasionally girls reduce the price for multiple songs. There is usually plenty of two way contact, although occasionally some girls refused to partake in such activities. Overall I am bit discouraged by the lack of real improvements, loss of privacy (can be fixed by adding a curtain over glass window) and quality of current talent. However, I had very good experiences in the old Doll House in the past. Things are bound to improve. Charlie is a veteran of JAX club scene & I'm sure he'll continuously improve the club. I'll visit again. My current favorite in JAX is Wackos, although their dance prices are little higher at $30/song. For multiple songs most girls at Wackos will drop the price to $25.
