This club hasn't opened yet, but it is expected to open in a few weeks. So the ratings listed are purely speculative. It is in the former site of the 1819 Club, previously known as Joanna's. That original club went bankrupt 10 years ago and the club closed a year later for renovations. A public transcript of a hearing before the DC alcohol control board in December showed the owners have had numerous problems over the years with the renovation.

These included having to spend a year dealing with installing a water line across the street in front of it, replacing the electrical wiring and water pipes. The owner said in the hearing that essentially the building, except for the front wall, has been gutted and the entire back wall has been replaced.

The liquor license is up for renewal at the end of the month. The neighborhood advisory board has filed a protest over the license expressing concerns with any expansion of the occupancy and seating capacity of the space.
