Stopped by Polekatz on a recent Wednesday evening, mostly due to the fact that I had gotten a handful of free passes from a co-worker, so I figured what the hell? Might as well stop in and see what's up. I know this building was another club a few years ago, but can't remember the name. They changed to Polekatz about a year ago. The building is small and old, just on the east edge of Gary, Indiana, on Hwy 20 - an old steel-hauling road. I got there around 8:30pm and the parking lot was maybe 1/4 full. Walked through the doors and was greeted on entry by a guy wearing a black suit and a radio with earpiece. Security at this club is definitely on the tight side, with at least 3-4 guys on duty, I'd say. Given the location, I expect them to be packing, as well. Coat and hat check are mandatory, but free (though tipping is encouraged). Asked if I wanted a table seat of just a seat at the bar. I wasn't planning on staying long, so I grabbed a bar seat and ordered my usual MGD.

Before I could turn around, a young girl came up to the bar and took the seat next to me. She introduced herself as "Aurora," and appeared to be young, no more than 22 years old, and thin with medium length brown hair. Not bad looking, fairly clean and did not appear drugged up or too pushy. We sat and chatted for a bit and she gave me the rundown on prices for the club. Lap dances are $15, but during "happy hour" (4-7pm) and on Sundays they're $10. They also have 2-for-1 specials. Champagne rooms are $120 for 15 minutes, I believe she said $200 for 30 minutes and $300 for a full hour. The main and only stage is small - about 15 feet long and about 4 feet wide, with only two poles. Flashing purple lights everywhere, and sports on huge screen tvs by the bar area. Drink prices are average - I think my beer was maybe $4. I tipped a buck, cuz I'm cool like that.

Aurora asked if I'd like a dance, so we walked over to the lap dance area - a small section on the west side of the club, blocked from casual view by a high wooden wall, painted gray, but right next to the DJ booth, which is raised and overlooks the entire lap dance area, so the DJ can keep an eye on the goings-on inside. And they do. The Men In Suits even wander in occasionally, to be sure things are on the up and up.
