The new Doll House is open...

The new Doll House is open (finally). I was fortunate to be passing thru Jacksonville, FL today after reading that the club was opening at its new location. This is a new building purpose built for the club, with new furnishings, in a new location and the owner clearly made an effort to capture what was "good" about the old club. The vibe is much like the old club, small space, stage dancers front and center and private dance cubicles separated from the main floor. Like the old location the main floor is very dim. When I walked in from a cloudy day it took me several minutes to see enough to move around.

This time the seating in the open areas is padded metal chairs set around 30" round tables, a row of the same type of metal chairs around three sides of the stage and padded benches against the walls (not terribly different from the old Doll House.) A "bar" with 10 or 12 bar stools is along a side wall on the opposite side of the club from the entrance. The private dance area is opposite the stage (against the building's front wall) and separated from the room by a glass partition over a half wall (with the mentioned bench seating). The private booths are each about 4' X 4', open to the glass wall, with a built in (well padded) bench. The down side is that the bench seats are not very deep. The glass wall may help avoid some of the issues from LE raids at the old club but really are not a privacy problem because it is nearly impossible to see from the club area into the cubes.

On this opening day I found the club busy, but not crowded, at 4PM. My count was about 12 (or more) dancers on the day shift with about 8 to 10 customers. Notably, Katya was there and performing her usual graceful greetings as well as dancing. Prices are still the same, they took $5 for cover and $5 for a soft drink (this is a juice bar). I still takes $1 to $2 to see a dancer topless and $5 for a nude stage dance. Private - nude - dances are #25 each, with no other fees.
