I recently visited New York and of course, had to check out the local scene. We were staying in Times Square, and after reading reviews, it seemed like Flashdancers was the place to check out.

From reading the reviews I knew it was a basement club, but somehow I expected more. It looks like a basement. Low ceilings, small space, and overall unimpressive. The low rise stage is more of a catwalk and had a number of girls listing side to side in what I guess was supposed to be dancing. There was even a spot for them to "dance" topless behind the bar.

I was there from around 10:00 - midnight and I was surprised how dead it was. No atmosphere and no energy at all. Almost every single girl approached with the solitary "want a dance" line and put no effort into anything.
