As a long time fan of Cheerleaders in Philadelphia, I really want to like this club. But on my few visits there, I have departed feeling that prices are simply too high, out of line for the area. For some reason they feel as if they act like it is a Vegas or NYC club, it will suddenly become one, and that is simply not the case. The assault starts with a $5 charge for valet parking. OK, so it is in a difficult location for parking, so make valet complimentary, and folks will gladly tip the attendant. Then comes the cover charge (why a cover in a club selling alcohol, ever?), low on a Monday night at $5, but nevertheless annoying. Then a mandatory coat check, tips appreciated. Double whiskey on the rocks, $11.25 … in Pittsburgh? Drink for one of the dancers was reasonable at $6.50, but she asked only for red wine. Seating around the big bar prevents the hustle for $1 tipping, though some guys seem to like to toss dollars at the dancers, never really got the fun in that. Finally, $25 per dance, and of course "you can tip me if you like". Really? As if someone would stop me from tipping? Maybe I need to return on a more active night, when the girls seem less occupied looking at their phones (should be prohibited by management in this and every club nationwide), and when perhaps a bigger crowd would help add some spirit to the place.
