I very much want to like...

I very much want to like the Barrel of Dolls. I've been there several times since their remodel last fall, and I'm just not impressed.

First, there's the layout. The stage is set high, making it uncomfortable to watch the dancers while sitting on the barrels along the stage. There's a table set back with a some stools, but also a lot of empty space. In short, it's just not meant for sitting down and enjoying the show.

There's a cute blonde with glasses who dances well and and who gives quality time to tippers, but other than that, there wasn't much to grab my attention. To be fair, there were one or two other dancers who did catch my eye, but they spent their time with regulars and never circulated on the floor. And there wasn't enough in the Barrel to make me want to hang out long enough to see them on stage.
