I've visited this club a couple...

I've visited this club a couple of times, but when I went earlier this week it had been about a year since the last time. Not much had changed, but some things had: cover had gone from $10 to $5, lap dances had gone from $25 to $30, and the VIP room had gone from fixed rates of $400 for half an hour and $600 for an hour to a system under which the house gets a minimum and the dancer negotiates her share. I've only ever visited on weeknights, usually Tuesday or Wednesday, so I can't comment on weekend traffic, but the girls say it gets pretty busy.

The Gold Club has clearly been there for a while; while hardly sparkling and new, the interior is decently maintained. The main dance floor has two poles that extend all the way to the roof and are basically two stories tall, and I've seen some pretty impressive moves 12-15 feet above the floor. (Personally, I wouldn't want to rely on *my* thigh muscles to keep me up there, so kudos to those young ladies.) There is one dancer at a time on the main floor for two songs. During busier times I've seen the dancer rotate off the main floor to a small side stage, but on this particular visit things were fairly slow and only the main floor was in use. Most of the girls progress to nothing more than G- or V-string during the first song, but on every visit there's always been at least one girl who kept her top on, making it a bikini dance.

The quality of the girls varies. For the most part they are at least reasonably attractive and height-weight proportionate, but rarely have I seen anyone absolutely smoking hot, and occasionally you'll get one that's a bit chubby (for my tastes, anyway, but as my colleagues like to joke, I like my girls "hungry"). I've never seen anyone with a single-digit tooth count or who posed a structural risk to the pole, so that's a plus. Most are not overly aggressive; some will stop and chat you up (or try) or ask whether you'd like a lap dance, but I've been in lower-quality clubs elsewhere that had a few dancers that were absolutely predatory and insistent to the point of being obnoxious. Thankfully I've never encountered a GC dancer like that. Most will at least suggest a second lap dance at the end of the first, but hey, I expect some upselling.
