I've been to Lace several times....
I've been to Lace several times. The club has a shoebox shape with tables and seats along the walls and two small stages. Space can get a little tight, especially during peak hours, but it's tolerable. The atmosphere is loose, it's not fancy or upscale like the Penthouse Club aspires to be but that means it's also not as stiff and formal as the Penthouse. The waiters will ask if you want drinks but they won't badger you constantly for refills. The dancers are a nice mix of different types. As is typical of NYC strip clubs now, there's a large contingent of Eastern European girls who tend to have faces that don't match their fantastic bodies. They are also on the aggressive side, at least for me. But there are also standouts such as Julianna, a girl who traveled down from Boston to work at the club. A brunette with a beautiful face, natural breasts and a friendly personality, she sat and talked with my friend and I for the longest time before she even brought up lap dances (a very effective technique which not enough dancers learn). Her dances were very intimate and violated the club rules against touching, as she pointed out (not that I complained). Unfortunately, she hasn't worked at Lace for over a month now - last time I saw her was during Memorial Day weekend - and I don't know if she works there anymore.
