Curious to check out the new...

Curious to check out the new Scores club, I stopped by on a recent weekday afternoon. The facility is very nice, with lots of booths, a large bar area, an attractively lit runway-style stage with several dance poles and an excellent sound system. I do have a couple of picky observations about the facility: the AC system produced a very noticeable draft when sitting at the bar, strong enough to blow money and napkins off the bar. In addition, the club has valet parking but the building does not provide a sheltered area for a customer to wait for their car to be retrieved (after all, this is Michigan in the middle of winter). I know these are picky observations, but given the amount of money invested in this building, you'd expect better design features.

These minor design flaws could be overlooked if the talent was outstanding. The bartenders were smoking hot but unfortunately, the number and caliber of the dancers was disappointing. The stage was empty for several songs in a row and the talent that I viewed was not impressive, maybe in the 5-6 range. I declined a visit to the VIP with a dancer--- just not my type. So I cannot report on the private dance facilities or prices.

My visit was several days after they were "raided" on their second day of operation. I put raided in quotes because some have characterized it as a check to make sure the strippers had dance cards (a requirement to work at a strip club in Detroit, which seems more of a money grab than a useful effort at regulating a profession). Maybe some of the talent that they recruited prior to opening was scared away by the raid? To the club's credit, they did have a large sign in front of the building recruiting dancers.
